2.Futaba Town Industrial Exchange Center

It is a core facility in the Nakano district that is driving the recovery of Futaba Town, and is a complex that includes rental meeting rooms and offices, as well as commercial facilities such as a food court, restaurants, and souvenir shops.

It is adjacent to the Great East Japan Earthquake and Nuclear Disaster Museum, so you can eat, take a break, and purchase souvenirs after visiting the museum.

Additionally, from the rooftop observation deck of the Exchange Center, you can see a panoramic view of Futaba Town, so please take a look at the town’s recovery and see Fukushima Daiichi in the distance.

3.Wall art “FUTABA Art District”

Access to areas contaminated by the nuclear power plant accident was restricted for many years. Although restrictions were finally eased, few of the townspeople returned and the town became deserted.

The “Futaba Art District” project was launched to revitalize Futaba Town.

It started with the desire of one town resident to revitalize Futaba Town with art!'' and with the cooperation of the art companyOver Alls”, colorful art will spread throughout Futaba Town.

“FUTABA Art District” is full of colorful and powerful works that will leave you moved.

All of the works are filled with passion for Futaba Town and have something that appeals to the heart.

Please come to Futaba Town and feel the wall art and the feelings put into it!

4.Fukushima Prefecture Reconstruction Memorial Park “Miharashidai”

A temporary observation deck has been set up at the site of the Fukushima Prefecture Reconstruction Memorial Park, which is scheduled to be built straddling the towns of Futaba and Namie.

From the observation deck, you can see the progress of the town’s reconstruction and park maintenance. In addition, the observation deck shows the tsunami inundation depth of 16.5 meters, reminding us that this is a large tsunami.

Near the viewing platform are the Great East Japan Earthquake and Nuclear Disaster Memorial Museum'' andEarthquake Remains of Namie Municipal Ukedo Elementary School,” so we recommend visiting them in conjunction with your museum tour.

5.Around Futaba Station

The evacuation order was lifted on March 4, 2020 for the Futaba Town evacuation order preparation area and some areas such as the area around JR Futaba Station.

Although progress is being made towards reconstruction one step at a time, there are many ruins in the town and it gives the impression of being lonely. I hope that people will be able to see the current state of the town and become even a little interested in its reconstruction.
